These medicines work by preventing HIV from replicating, helping reduce viral load and supporting immune health.
Mechanism of Action (MOA)
Tenvir EM combines two antiviral agents:
Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (TDF): Converted inside cells into its active form, where it inhibits HIV reverse transcriptase, causing premature termination of viral DNA synthesis.
Emtricitabine (FTC): Also converted into an active intracellular form that blocks HIV reverse transcriptase and prevents viral DNA replication.
Together, these drugs inhibit HIV replication and help prevent the virus from multiplying.
